Jim advises clients in the areas of estate planning, business
succession planning, and general tax matters. He has experience working
with a variety of complex wealth transfer planning strategies, and in
advising partnerships and limited liability companies on income tax
issues.
Prior to joining the MB team, Jim
graduated magna cum laude from Weber State University, Ogden, Utah,
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2003. He then graduated magna cum
laude in 2006 from Gonzaga University School of Law, Spokane,
Washington. He was a member of Gonzaga University's Moot Court Council,
through which he competed in the ABA/LSD Regional Negotiations
Competition (2003), the National Moot Court Regional Competition
(2005), the Robert S. Wagner National Employment Law Moot Court
Competition (2005), and won first place in the Linden Cup Moot Court
Tournament (2005) and the Gonzaga Negotiations Competition (2003).
After law school, Jim received his Master of Laws (LL.M.) Degree in
Taxation from New York University in May 2007.
Jim
is a member of the American Bar Association, Colorado Bar Association,
Utah Bar Association, Denver Bar Association, J. Reuben Clark Law
Society and the Rocky Mountain Estate Planning Council.
In his spare time, Jim enjoys reading, playing sports, gardening, and spending time with his family.
